Kannaway Review — Is it a scam?
Kannaway is an MLM company specializing in hemp-based cannabidiol (CBD) products.
As far as we know, it’s the only network marketing organization offering products of this type. There are a ton of benefits, according to some research, and the market doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.
Kannaway’s Oil is from 100% legal non-GMO European industrial hemp and according to the company it’s done, utilizing our proprietary extraction methods to extract the hemp oil from the mature stalk.
It definitely could be a unique venture, especially among those who understand the benefits.
All the products are made from hemp.
This fact could throw a lot of people off. Even if it doesn’t make you think twice, you’ll have to consider those people you’re selling to and those who you want to try and make your distributors. If they’d have a problem buying and reselling hemp products — you may have trouble getting your business off the ground.
If you’re not down with this particular business model, take a look at Ariix. Very professional company, no hemp.
First up in their line up is “Revive”.
It’s said to “enliven, invigorate, and stimulate your entire system giving you increased clarity, focus and energy to get you through your day”.
How you take it could be an issue for some. You’re supposed to spray it in your mouth 9 times and hold it there for about a minute before swallowing it.
Next, there is their line of beauty products called “Cannabis Beauty Defined”. There is a cleanser, exfoliant, toner, serum, moisturizer, detox soak, and CBD capsules to take as a supplement for skin health.
If you just want the hemp oil, they’ve got that.
This is the same oil that they extract and use in all of their products. It comes in a plastic syringe about .353 oz or 15 grams of the stuff. At more than $400 bucks at full retail, it’s not cheap.
Administering this is easy enough. You take .5 grams and put it under your tongue for about 60-90 seconds before swallowing. It also comes in capsule form if you want to take it a little easier. A salve can also be found on the site as well as chewable tablets.
Kannactiv is, believe it or not, a line of skin-tightening creams that use the power of hemp to keep your skin looking younger and younger.
There are three steps that are all sold together in one handy box. The steps are “activate”, “balance”, and “clarify”. Essentially, it’s a scrub, a toner, and a light moisturizer.
For skin products that don’t include CBD, Nerium could be a great option.
Lastly, they have a hemp vaping system. To be honest, this seems to tarnish the rest of the products a bit. These things are sold in gas stations, not by independent distributors. The atomizers use the same hemp oil that does seem to have health benefits and aren’t as harmful as nicotine, but still.
Many of their products are available put together in packs. Not with a few products here, or a set of stuff there. These are big packs that cost over a grand, but they are “value” packs meaning you make a little bit of money on them.
One of the cool things that Kannaway does is give back. They believe in the benefits of their products so much, they use them to help special cases of children that can use it to aid with their debilitating conditions.
The program is called “Echo” and you can donate directly from their store.
The comp plan is pretty straightforward.
From the beginning, they tell you exactly what you need to start a business with them. This is an appreciated thing, because most companies (even the good MLMs) can make it tough to find out how to get going.
There are two requirements. Pay them $54.98 (annual fee) and maintain the minimum Personal Business Volume (PBV) required for your rank each month.
If you really love the products, there is a program called “three and it’s free”. Meaning that if you have three people ordering a certain amount of product, then you’ll get your order free (up to a certain amount). See the screenshot below to wrap your head around it.
Kannaway kind of turns percentages on their head a bit. Usually distributors get more of a percentage in the lower tiers and a lower percentage as their levels increase. Here, your network can go nine deep and your percentage starts out at 2% and goes incrementally to 10% in level 9.
There are also 11 titles that distributors can have.
You start out as a “brand ambassador” and then go through ten different types of “director”. They have several other bonuses and the typical things you’ve come to expect from the MLM industry.
One of the unique things here is the minimum income guarantee that Kannaway offers. If you meet the requirements of a certain level, but fail to earn the amount in the guarantee—they’ll make up the difference.
This guarantee starts at “executive director” and above and can be pretty steep. The money promised ranges from $500/mo all the way to $83,333/mo for “Presidential Director”.
Most people will have a lot of apprehension about selling hemp products. Others will have a lot of trouble getting their friends and neighbors to sign up under them.
The stigma may be trumped up, but it’s still there. And you’re going to have to get around it if you want to be successful in this company.
